Some thoughts on Netherlands-Japan collected below as we watch the match on this fine Saturday morning.
It won’t be liveblogging, as we’re watching the game about 80 minutes behind real-time off the DVR, and hence there’s no point in trying to give a play-by-play. This’ll be more a collection of thoughts about the game–particularly the efforts of the Dutch, as they seek to build upon their 1st win, solidify their position at the top of this group, and develop some momentum heading into the remainder of the tourament.

After this morning’s game we’re throwing all our support to the Desert Foxes. England have replaced Green with James between the sticks, which apparently is a better choice. Let’s not forget his nickname is Calamity James…
The lynchpin game for Mexico today, and they’re favorites to put down an unsettled French squad who by all rights
The wheel goes round, and we’re back to Group A action with the Bafana Bafana back up, this time against the dangerous Diego Forlan and Uruguay. It’ll be another tough match for the African side, at least it’s the late game and we don’t feel so bad about drinking while running commentary.
After much anticipation, the tournament favorites start their campaign to add world glory to that ’08 euro. No baby-faced striker up top for the boys in red, so please, enjoy this action shot Nando instead.
